Nickel Books

The Best of the Jefferson Nickel Doubled Die Varieties by John A. Wexler and Brian A. Ribar. This excellent book is available soft bound, 8.5" x 11" page size, 264 pages, with over 1500 excellent photos! Each doubled die listed is described in great detail, explaining the type of doubled die, the areas where the doubling is most evident, descriptions of die markers, contributors, values in several grades (which are very realistic and accurate), and as many as 9 photos per variety. The quality of the photos is superior to those in virtually any other variety book. Each variety is identified with Wexler's attribution number, and significant cross-reference numbers are also included. Also included is a chapter on the different types or "classes" of doubled dies, describing how they are created. Photos of examples of each class are also included.
